PILLAR 01

leadership

Wisdom, ability and skills for all kinds of work.

Endow men and women with wisdom, understanding, knowledge, ability, and skill for business.

"…and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills."

Exodus 31:3

What Leadership means

The Skill to Do the Work, and the Wisdom to Lead.

The Bible's first picture of a master craftsman is a builder, filled with the Spirit for the work of his hands, not a king or a general. Leadership, in the biblical frame, begins there: with God-given ability, applied with understanding, in service of something worth making.

For the businessperson that means leadership is learnable and accountable. Wisdom sets the aim, knowledge informs the plan, and skill carries it out, while the people doing the work are led and honored throughout the process. It is competence and character held together, day after day.

PILLAR 02

Business

Timeless principles and best practice for business.

Business is the practice of work and trade that benefits others, operated and managed according to timeless principles and best practice.

"Honest scales and balances belong to the LORD; all the weights in the bag are of his making.”

Proverbs 16:11

What Business means

Work and Trade That Benefits Others.

The Bible reveals standards for how work gets done: honest weights and fair wages, diligence and excellence, keeping your word, and genuine care for the people a business touches.

PILLAR 03

Economics

How the economy works to create value.

Economics helps business people understand how value is created and how the economy moves through short- and long-term cycles.

"The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.”

Ecclesiastes 7:8

What Economics means

How the Economy Works to Create Value.

Markets move in seasons. Prices rise and fall, credit loosens and tightens, optimism swells and then gives way to caution, and back again. Understanding the economy means recognizing value and navigating cycles with patience and integrity.

PILLAR 04

Investing

Invest and Multiply.

Investing is a disciplined process for putting capital to work and multiplying it.

"Divide your portion to seven, or even to eight, for you do not know what misfortune may occur on the earth.”

Ecclesiastes 11:2

What Investing means

Invest and Multiply.

Invest according to ability. Diversify. Manage risk. Measure results. Multiply 2X–100X.

Investing well is rooted in discipline: count the cost before you commit, diversify to protect the portfolio from any single outcome, and hold to a process when emotion says otherwise.

PILLAR 05

Generosity

For the peace and prosperity of the city.

Generosity meets the needs of people who cannot meet their own needs.

“The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.”

Ecclesiastes 7:8

What Generosity means

Generosity Is Part of How Flourishing Works.

Charity and philanthropy allocate capital to people and institutions that help restore flourishing and contribute to the peace and prosperity of the city.

Generosity is part of the design of a thriving economy. Giving meets needs, strengthens communities, and contributes to human flourishing.

PILLAR 06

Theology

Creating human flourishing by design.

Theology is the foundation beneath the other five pillars. It answers the question underneath them all: whose economy is this, and what is wealth for?

"You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth."

Deuteronomy 8:18

What Theology means

Creating Human Flourishing by Design.

The Business Bible framework holds that work, value, wealth, and human flourishing belong inside God's design. The ability to create value is a gift, and wealth has a purpose centered on human flourishing.
